We hope you enjoyed our latest series, but we’re just getting started.
Welcome back to the Mailbag.
No questions to answer today, just a little bit of bragging to do.
A while back we wrote about Texas Tech University's magazine, Evermore, and we remain incredibly proud of it.
Evermore - from a writing, photography and design perspective - is our banner bearer.
But ever since Evermore No. 1 hit the shelves we've had a problem to resolve: How do we reach that standard across all our platforms?
It ain't easy, but we're getting there.
First, we brought you Fearless, the Texas Tech podcast. Taylor Peters and Allison Hirth kicked that off and, along with Thomas Boyd, they have turned it into something special. (I'd encourage you to go back and get caught up on seasons 1 and 2 if you haven't listened to them already. (Oh look, a handy link to get you there.)
Season 1 walks us through a campus dealing with recovery from COVID-19. Season 2 is all about the research, what we are doing and why we're doing it.
Fearless was an incredible boost to our digital products. It's high-quality content, but the call from above was for us to try and match that level of storytelling across the board.
Again, the bar is high, but we like a challenge.
This month we took on an ambitious project. Nine stories, delivered twice weekly, on the spectacular women of Texas Tech and the history they're making. We wanted to leverage the talent on this team to tell you all some cool stories. Our photographers and videographers put together a preview video and stylized photo shoots, and our writers went to work.
What came of it was a series we're very proud of.
But we ain't done yet!
Texas Tech has too many stories to tell, and our growing team is steadily finding its rhythm. So, get ready.
With the Centennial Commencement coming up, we've got some great stories of graduates on tap. And that's just the next thing in line.
Fearless Season 3 will drop this summer. To coincide with the Centennial, the team is telling the story of Texas Tech past, present and future. We're not at liberty to talk about all of it just yet, but trust me, you don't want to miss it.
Along with the things you've already gotten a taste of, we're in production on a video series (or two) we think will help shine a light on this great university; we're diving into Beyond Okay; and we're floating new ideas every day.
We've got more than 40,000 students, hundreds of thousands of alumni and a century worth of history to talk about. And with what the future has in store, we feel like we're just scratching the surface.
So, what's next? That's where you come in.
Tell us what you want to know about. And if you've got a great story to share, we're all ears.
Shoot an email to the Mailbag Inbox any time, even if you just want to say hi.
We're happy you're with us, and there's much more to come.
