The west side of the Texas Tech campus has some great dining options.
Your stomach is grumbling. Your window of opportunity to grab something in between the University Recreation Center and Philosophy class is slim.
Sounds like a problem. We'd be more than happy to provide some solutions to your quandry.
Your closest option is right across the street from the Rec, Sam's Place West. Variety is more than just the spice of life, it's on the menu here. Are you a fan of Italian food, sushi, salad, Mexican food and burgers? Sam's Place West has you covered. Can't get enough of those Chick-fil-A nuggets? They have those too.
But you are in a hurry, right? Guess what, the Grab-n-Go selection is extensive and with Transact Mobile Ordering, your order will be waiting for you when you walk inside. Sam's Place West just opened Boar's Head Deli to the list of options. For those with late-night cravings, they will be open until midnight.
Speaking of Boar's Head Deli, that is one of the featured items just east down 18th Street inside the Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research at the Burkhart Café.
The recently renamed Burkhart Café features ciabatta sandwiches with Boar's Head meats and cheeses. But one item that is sure to draw a crowd is the new artisan flat-crust pizzas. One you absolutely need to try outside of the traditional pepperoni and cheese is buffalo chicken pizza. Your taste buds will thank you.
The Burkhart Café is a partnership between Texas Tech Hospitality Services and the Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research to not only create great food, but also provide a life skills learning environment for those at the center.
The café takes dining bucks, credit cards and you can also utilize Transact Mobile Ordering.
For hours on both facilities, check out Hospitality Services 2023 Fall Dining Hours for the very latest.
