Science Daily - ScienceDaily (Dec. 7, 2010) — A Texas Tech University whale researcher said she and others found evidence of exposure to polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and persistent organic pollutants, including the pesticide DDT, in Pacific Ocean-dwelling sperm whales.

WAPA - Fry Construction, a leader in medical imaging design and construction, has broken ground on an innovative new facility in the medical imaging arena. The project is the first phase of a medical imaging center for scientific research and development and represents a significant achievement towards cutting edge technology in the West Texas Region. Texas Tech University is building the first research-dedicated Siemens 3T fMRI in the region. The new capability will allow advanced research in imaging with a focus on Neuroimaging related to Autism, Addiction, Brain Development, and a host of other applications.
