Energy report: Texas wind energy production surges, supporting jobs and diversifying U.S. energy economy

North Texas e-News - Over the past four years, the Energy Department has supported the testing and validation of newly developed technologies to help further reduce costs and speed the deployment of next generation technologies into the marketplace. In Lubbock, Texas, the Energy Department joined with Texas Tech University and Sandia National Laboratories last month to break ground on a new wind farm testing facility in Lubbock, Texas. Through this facility, public and private institutions will be able to assess new methods and technologies for optimizing whole wind farms’ performance and power production.
