The music may have died in an Iowa cornfield Feb. 3, 1959, but rock ’n’ roll legend Buddy Holly’s impact on music and the legal side of the music industry still raves on today, according to Texas Tech University experts Christopher Smith and Wes Cochran.

In celebration of the Korean Lunar New Year, Texas Tech University is hosting Korean komungo virtuoso and composer Jin Hi Kim. Kim’s lecture and recital is at 6 p.m. Monday (Jan. 26) in the auditorium of Texas Tech’s International Culture Center, 601 Indiana Ave.
