Volunteer opportunities include a Habitat for Humanity workday.
WHAT: Texas Tech University will observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day with the Texas Tech Centennial MLK Day of Service, on which Red Raiders are encouraged to volunteer in their communities. There will be several opportunities in and around the university, including a Habitat for Humanity workday.
WHEN: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday (Jan. 16)
WHERE: 3317 E. Dartmouth St.
EVENT: Volunteers must be 18 years old and willing to do construction. Skilled or unskilled volunteers are welcome, and some volunteers are needed for logistics as well such as serving food, cleaning, etc. Groups are encouraged to sign up and work together. More information is available here.
Participants are reminded to log their hours here to contribute toward the university's goal of completing 1 million hours of volunteerism and service during its centennial celebration.
