Texas Tech University is set to open the first of three new cultural centers on campus.
WHAT: Texas Tech University will open its Black Cultural Center to the media ahead of its grand opening later in the week.
WHEN: 11 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 7)
WHERE: Black Cultural Center, 2533 15th Street
EVENT: This event is only open to members of the media and is designed for media to tour and photograph the Black Cultural Center ahead of the grand opening. Media are welcome and encouraged to also attend the grand opening at 3 p.m. on Friday (Sept. 9).
The Black Cultural Center will be the second cultural center on campus, following the International Cultural Center (ICC) which was built in 1996. In addition to the Black Cultural Center, the university also plans to open a Hispanic Cultural Center and Intercultural Center in early 2023.
