Texas Tech Alumni Association to Receive Texas Historic Subject Marker

The Lubbock County Historical Commission will dedicate the plaque and unveil the marker at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center.

WHAT: Unveiling of Recorded Texas Historic Subject Marker plaque recognizing the Texas Tech Alumni Association.

WHEN: 1 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 7)

WHERE: Southeast corner of McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center, 17th Street and University Avenue.

EVENT: The Lubbock County Historical Commission will dedicate a Recorded Texas Historic Subject Marker plaque recognizing the Texas Tech Alumni Association (TTAA) at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center, which houses the TTAA.

Formed in 1927, the Texas Tech Alumni Association promotes the academic mission of Texas Tech University and encourages alumni to stay connected to Texas Tech and with each other.

Texas Tech UniversityPresident Lawrence Schovanec; TTAA President and CEO Curt Langford; Sandy Fortenberry, chair of the Lubbock County Historical Society; and Chris Snead, vice president of Operations and Engagement for the Alumni Association, are scheduled to speak at the event.

Fortenberry and Snead will be available for media interviews after the event.
