EVENT: Registration is now open for the upcoming Texas Department of State Health Services webinar, “Exploring Ricin Toxin: A Case Study.” Provided by the Texas Laboratory Response Network, which includes Texas Tech University's Institute of Environmental and Human Health (TIEHH), this webinar will present a case study on a recent ricin poisoning of an individual in Texas. Through this case, participants will learn about the history of ricin, symptomology, treatment, confirmatory testing, safety and decontamination recommendations – in essence, what to do and who to call for a patient with potential exposure to ricin toxin.
This webinar is intended for individuals who work in a clinical setting and is approved for one contact hour through the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science's Professional Acknowledgment for Continuing Education (P.A.C.E.®) program.
