The campaigns, which will run through the end of this week, support initiatives that impact the Texas Tech and Lubbock communities.
For decades, countless Americans have spent the day after Thanksgiving – Black Friday – kicking off the country's Christmas shopping season. In recent years, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday were added to the calendar, extending the spending into the following week.
In 2012, a different kind of movement joined the mix. #GivingTuesday, observed just five days after Thanksgiving, encourages people to spend in a different way – by giving back to their communities.

This year, the Texas Tech University System's Office of Institutional Advancement has launched several campaigns listed below that will run through the end of the week and are designed to support initiatives that positively impact campus, Lubbock and Texas communities.

- This campaign, led by the Office of the Dean of Students and supporting Raider Red's Food Pantry, focuses on reducing hunger and food scarcity in the Texas Tech community.
