Texas Tech, Residence Halls Association to Host 61st Annual Carol of Lights®

The theme is “The Night of 20,000 Lights.”

WHAT: Texas Tech University will host the 61st annual Carol of Lights®.

WHEN: 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3

WHERE: Memorial Circle, the Science Quadrangle and the Broadway entrance to Texas Tech

EVENT: More than 25,000 colored lights will illuminate 18 buildings on the Texas Tech campus, signifying the start of the holiday season. A 38-foot-tall Christmas tree that sits behind the Texas Tech Seal at the Broadway entrance also will be lit during the ceremony. The event, themed "The Night of 20,000 Lights," is put on by students in the Residence Halls Association.

At 6:30 p.m., the Carillon Concert will begin, followed by the Torch Light Processional at 7 p.m., which will go from the Broadway entrance to campus, around Memorial Circle and to the Science Quad.

Parking will be available in most faculty/staff and commuter lots after 5:30 p.m. ADA parking will be available in the R1 parking lot, accessible from 15th Street and Detroit Avenue. The 15th Street entrance off University Avenue no longer provides access to the interior of campus. Click here for a campus map.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on 88.1 KTXT-FM "The Raider," Lubbock's PBS station KTTZ-TV and through livestream.
