Elections Expert Available to Comment on First Presidential Debates

The first debates of the 2020 presidential campaign are scheduled for 8 p.m. today (June 26) and tomorrow (June 27). Pitting 10 Democratic candidates against one another each night, the debates signify the public's first chance for a side-by-side comparison of the presidential hopefuls.

After each debate, Texas Tech University associate professor Seth McKee will be available for phone interviews to give his perspective. McKee, a faculty member in the Department of Political Science, is a scholar of American politics with expertise in southern politics, political parties, campaigns and elections, political participation, public opinion, the presidency and Congress, and redistricting.

Earl Survey Research Lab

The mission of the ESRL is to provide survey research services to the university community and to public sector agencies and organizations. Along with the Center for Public Service, ESRL serves as a support resource for students, faculty and administrators involved in survey and social science instruction and research.

Although we are housed in the Department of Political Science, we are capable of research in all fields including healthcare, economic development, public administration and customer satisfaction.

Arts & Sciences

The Texas Tech University College of Arts & Sciences was founded in 1925 as one of the university's four original colleges.

Comprised of 16 departments and more than 400 tenured faculty members, the College offers a wide variety of courses and programs in the humanities, social and behavioral sciences, mathematics and natural sciences.
