2019-20 Texas Tech Masked Rider Unveiled at Transfer of Reins
(VIDEO) Texas Tech University on Friday (April 19) named Emily Brodbeck of Lubbock as its 58th Masked Rider. Brodbeck, a graduate student majoring in Wildlife, Aquatic and Wildlands Science and Management in the College of Agricultural Sciences & Natural Resources, will serve in the position for the 2019-20 academic year.
The 57th Masked Rider, Lyndi Starr, an agricultural communications major from Mount Vernon, wore the mask and cape one last time before passing the reins of horse Fearless Champion to Brodbeck during the annual Transfer of Reins ceremony at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center.

Emily Brodbeck had her first horse-riding lesson with Danica Jorgensen when she was just five years old. From that moment on, horses and riding were everything for Emily. Now, the Wildlife, Aquatic and Wildlands Science and Management graduate student from Lubbock will have a chance to share that passion with the Texas Tech University community.
Today, at the annual Transfer of Reins ceremony, she became the university's 58th Masked Rider.

Outgoing Raider Reds Revealed at 2019 Passing of the Guns Ceremony
(VIDEO) Texas Tech University students John Brown of Melissa, Texas, and Lance Lebron of New Braunfels, were revealed Friday (April 19) as the students who served as the Raider Red mascot for the 2018-19 academic year. The two were unmasked at the annual Passing of the Guns ceremony in the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center.
