WHAT: The Texas Tech University Climate Center will host its next 'Science By the Glass' lecture, "123 Days in Antarctica." Natasja van Gestel, an assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences in the College of Arts & Sciences, will speak.
WHEN: 6 p.m. Tuesday (April 23). Doors open at 5 p.m.

EVENT: "Science By the Glass" is a discussion series that brings together members of the community, Texas Tech faculty and students to talk about topics in the fields of science, climate and society.
Van Gestel visited Antarctica earlier this year, conducting research on plant colonization and ecosystems as well as climate change.
Arrive early for food and drinks from 5-6 p.m. Van Gestel will speak at 6 p.m. Parking will be available across the street from the venue.
The discussion is open to the public and admission is free.
