Camps will be available for a variety of ages and interests.

Multiple departments at Texas Tech University offer summer camps for students to learn about various subjects. These camps also give campers the opportunity to explore and discover what a college campus has to offer.

Available camps are listed below.

  • Science: It's A Girl Thing

    • This camp allows young women to explore diverse topics in science and the various career paths within science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Topics covered during the camp include environmental science, plant soil science and rocketry.
    • Grades 5-6: June 9-13; grades 7-12: June 16-20
    • Cost: $600
  • Generation TECH

    • The Generation TECH camp allows for the exploration by high school students to consider renewable energy technologies as a future academic pursuit. Participants will gain skills through hands on learning that are needed to thrive in a career involving renewable energy. Activities and topics covered during the camp include wind and solar energy, building a wind turbine and concepts of solar panel design.
    • Grades 9-12: July 7-11
    • Cost: $700
  • Minecrafter

    • This camp is designed to immerse students in computer programming, coding and video game design. The camp lays the groundwork for complex and innovative programming projects. Topics covered during the camp include introduction to animation, coding, design and creation of a video game.
    • Grades 8-12: July 14-19
    • Cost: $700
  • Shake Hands With Your Future

    • In the Shake Hands With Your Future camp, students will focus on interactive learning activities in the realms of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Topics covered during the camp include architecture, environmental science, business and pre-law.
    • Grades 8-12: July 21-25
    • Cost: $650
  • Digital Designers

    • The Digital Designers camp is a non-residential camp that uses hands-on instruction with innovative curriculum in coding, game design, three-dimensional drawing and drafting.
    • Grades 5-8: July 8-12
    • Cost: $350 (Early Bird: $325 if registered by April 15)
      • Ask about discounts for siblings.

  • Summer Chess Camp

    • The camp will consist of chess lessons and tournaments for students at different skill levels. There also will be sports breaks and special activities each day.
    • Ages 7-18: June 3-7 and July 15-19
    • Cost:
      • Full day camp: $290 (Early Bird: $270)
      • Half day camp: $150 (Early Bird: $135)
      • Ask about discounts for Texas Tech faculty/staff, siblings and educators.

    • Fashion Camp 2019: Glue, Glitter and Glamour

      • This camp will give participants a chance to design jewelry, learn how to sew and showcase their modeling abilities at a fashion show at the end of the week. The theme for this year's camp is "Around the World in Fashion." Campers will learn about fashion centers around the world, including London, Paris, Tokyo and Milan, Camp concludes with a fashion show sponsored by Dillard's.
      • Ages 7-12: June 24-28
      • Cost:
        • For overnight campers, the cost is $550 before May 1, and increases to $650 after May 1.
        • For day campers, the cost is $450 before May 1, and increases to $550 after May 1.
        • A $150 deposit is required to hold a camper's spot.
        • A 10 percent discount is available to returning campers, campers from 4H or families sending more than one camper.

    • Child Development Research Center STEAM Camp

        • This camp will give participants a chance to learn about the world through an integrated science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) approach. Attendees will experience STEAM topics through creative, hands-on activities including a variety of art projects. 

        • Grades K-5: July 15-19

        • Cost: $250

      • Financial Planning Academy

        • This camp offers participants the chance to gain education and training in the core areas of personal financial management.
        • Grades 10-12: June 16-21
        • Cost: $150

      • Explore Engineering

        • This camp provides an opportunity for participants to spend a week learning about engineering through classes as well as hands-on activities.
        • Application due date: April 26
        • Grades 10-12: June 23-28

      • Youth Summer Sports Camp

        • This camp includes a variety of activities that focus on ensuring active participation, including rock climbing, team sports and archery.
        • Ages 7-14
        • Sessions run 8 a.m. to noon
          • Session 1: June 3-14
          • Session 2: June 17-28
          • Session 3: July 8-19
        • Cost: $180
      • Senior Camp

        • This is a one-week session designed for older and more experienced campers. Activities begin with open swim and continue with unique recreation opportunities.
        • Ages 12-15: July 22-26
        • Cost: $90

      • Summer Youth Classes

        • Campers get the chance to participate in classes over various topics including western movie making, ranch art and pioneer living.
        • Grades 1-5: June 10-14
        • Cost: $100 or $75 for RHA members
      • Kids Ranch Camp

        • This camp provides campers with the opportunity to do the work of different science-based occupations, like entomologists and wildlife biologists.
        • Grades 3-5: July 30-Aug. 1
        • Cost: $300 or $275 for RHA members

      • All-State Choir Camp

        • This camp allows high school choir students to receive an introduction to the Texas All-State audition music.
        • Grades 9-12: June 25-29
        • Cost: Contact the School of Music for the cost of the camp.
      • Band and Orchestra Camp

        • This camp is for high school and middle school students to learn band, orchestra, drum major or twirling tracks.
        • Grades 6-12: July 7-13
        • Cost:
          • For overnight campers: $685
          • For day campers: $310

      • TTU ART PRE-College Immersion Program 2019

        • This is an academic camp that will provide students the opportunity to make two-and three-dimensional art. Students will mount an art exhibition at the end of the week.
