WHAT: Texas Tech University Student Housing hosts the annual Recycled Art Contest.
WHEN: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday (March 28)
WHERE: Red Raider Ballroom, Student Union Building
EVENT: Members of the Lubbock and Texas Tech communities are invited to vote on their favorite artwork in University Student Housing's annual Recycled Art Contest. Each entry is required to be at least 75 percent recyclable materials and can take whatever form the artist prefers, including sculpture, jewelry or painting. Artworks should not be bigger than 24 inches by 36 inches, with the exception of clothing, which must be displayed in some way by the artist.
Winners will be chosen based on the most overall votes received and will be notified by email and an announcement on Facebook. First, second and third-place winners will receive prizes provided by Barnes & Noble and Chick-fil-A.
The event is open to the public and media are invited to attend and cover the event.
