Presidential Lecture & Performance Series Continues 2018-19 Season

The series will resume with the performance of three-time Grammy-nominated blues artist Ruthie Foster.

WHAT: Texas Tech University presents a performance by Ruthie Foster as part of the 2018-19 Presidential Lecture & Performance Series.

WHEN: 7 p.m. Feb. 22

WHERE: Texas Tech Allen Theatre, Student Union Building (SUB)

EVENT: Ruthie Foster, a three-time Austin Music Awards winner and three-time Grammy-nominated Blues artist, will perform as part of the 2018-19 Presidential Lecture & Performance Series.

Foster's distinct vocal style has been influenced by her favorite artists, including Aretha Franklin and Mavis Staples. She is the winner of seven Blues Music Awards, the Grand Prix du Disque award from the Académie Charles-Cros in France and a Living Blues Critics' Award for Female Blues Artist of the Year.

A CD signing will follow the performance.
