Wright and Green are the authors of Texas Tech’s fall production, “Hands on a Hardbody.”

The Texas Tech University School of Theatre & Dance, housed within the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, will hold “An Evening with Doug Wright and Amanda Green” at 5 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 16) in the Charles E. Maedgen Jr. Theatre. Wright and Green are the authors of Texas Tech's fall production of “Hands on a Hardbody,” a musical which runs at the McGavock Nissan dealership through October 21.
The presentation will include Wright, a Pulitzer-Prize winner for “I Am My Own Wife,” reading his essay “Bruce and Charles.” The work, originally published in a collection of pieces, “The Play that Changed My Life,” is edited by Howard Sherman and published by the American Theatre Wing. After the reading, Green will join Wright for a discussion of “Hands on a Hardbody.”
The event is free and open to the public.
Wright wrote the book for “Hands on a Hardbody” and Green wrote the lyrics and collaborated on the music with Trey Anastasio. The show received three Tony Award nominations in 2013, including Best Original Score.
