The performance is a collaboration with the University Symphony Orchestra.

WHAT: The Texas Tech University School of Music, housed within the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, will host two performances of Franz Lehar's operetta, “The Merry Widow.” The opera is presented by the Texas Tech Opera Theatre with musical collaboration from the University Symphony Orchestra.
WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Friday (Nov. 2) and 2 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 4)
WHERE: Allen Theatre, Student Union Building
EVENT: Kyla Olson, assistant professor of dance in the School of Theatre and Dance, will serve as stage director and choreographer. Eric Fried, associate professor of music, will provide musical direction. The opera will be performed in English.
Tickets for the two productions are available either at the door prior to the performance or from Eventbrite. General admission tickets are $15 each plus tax and fees, senior and non-Texas Tech student tickets are $10 each plus tax and fees. Texas Tech students with a valid student ID receive free admission at the door.
