Current Texas Tech students are invited to enter the contest and help rename the food pantry.
The Texas Tech University Center for Campus Life, the Office of the Dean of Students and the TTU Food Pantry are hosting a contest for current students to rename the TTU Food Pantry and design a new logo. The deadline for submissions is April 2.
Judging for the contest will focus on originality and recognition of the food pantry purpose and use. Submissions can be created on graphics software or sketched by hand and emailed to email@example.com with “Logo and Naming Contest” in the subject line. While creating their designs, students should follow guidelines on the use of the Double T.
Kimberly Thornton, senior director of the Center for Campus Life, said the TTU Food Pantry is looking forward to seeing students' creations.
“We are excited about the opportunity for students to name and design the logo for the TTU Food Pantry,” she said. “It is a great program, and the contest is a great way to give back to Texas Tech.”
The winner of the contest will be notified in mid-April and will receive a basketball signed by Chris Beard and Keenan Evans and gift card.

The TTU Food Pantry
The TTU Food Pantry was established in the fall of 2017 with a mission to reduce hunger and food insecurity among Texas Tech students, while encouraging campus engagement and education on how to reduce food insecurity.
The TTU Food Pantry is located in Doak Hall room 117. It is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. The pantry is also open by appointment outside of operating hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Mondays and Fridays. Current students who need food are encouraged to visit the pantry to receive nonperishable items. No proof of income is required.
“The TTU Food Pantry offers students who are experiencing food insecurity the opportunity to receive help in their time of need,” Thornton said.
The TTU Food Pantry is always accepting donations. Donations can be dropped off at the TTU Food Pantry during hours of operation or in room 201 of the Student Union Building from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekday. For a list of needs, visit the TTU Food Pantry website, or view the pantry's Walmart Wish List. Monetary donations can be made online or by contacting Thornton.
