Office of International Affairs Hosts National History Day Winners' Workshop

Thirty-three winners from Region 17 will work with Texas Tech University faculty and graduate students to finalize their projects before the state competition in Austin.

WHAT: South Plains Regional National History Day Winners' Workshop, hosted by Texas Tech University's Office of International Affairs  K-12 Global Education Outreach (GEO)

WHEN: 5:30-7 p.m. Wednesday (March 21)

WHERE: International Cultural Center (ICC), 601 Indiana Ave. Media may park on the north side of the ICC in visitor parking.

EVENT: GEO will host the South Plains Regional National History Day Winners' Workshop to help middle- and high-school competitors as they prepare for the state competition in Austin.

More than 100 students from Region 17 participated in the regional competition on March 3 at the ICC. The 33 contest winners from that competition will work with faculty and graduate students from the Texas Tech Honors College and the Department of History to finalize their projects for the state competition.

Faculty members, including Aliza Wong, associate dean of the Honors College, and Sean Cunningham, chair of the history department, and student competitors will be available to speak with media at the workshop.
