School of Music Hosts Performance with Frenship Middle School Gold Band

The two ensembles will play side-by-side in the Hemmle Recital Hall.

WHAT: The Texas Tech University School of Music, housed within the J.T. & Margaret Talkington College of Visual & Performing Arts, will host a concert featuring the Concert Band and the Frenship Middle School Gold Band.

WHEN: 7:30 p.m. Monday (March 26)

WHERE: Hemmle Recital Hall, 2624 W. 18th St.

EVENT: The Texas Tech Concert Band, conducted by director of bands Sarah McKoin, will perform alongside the Frenship Middle School Gold Band, under the direction of June Bearden, the director of bands at Frenship Middle School.

The program will feature selections by Eric Whitacre, Gustav Holst and Brian Balmages. To conclude the concert, the two bands will perform “Fight, Raiders, Fight,” the Texas Tech fight song.

The concert is free and open to the public.
