K-State and Texas Tech to collaborate on feedyard research

Drovers - Beef cattle research faculty from Kansas State University’s Department of Animal Sciences and Industry and the College of Veterinary Medicine with faculty from the Department of Animal and Food Sciences at Texas Tech University will embark on a feedlot cattle production and health research program to provide beef industry outreach.

This group will focus on two areas of cattle feeding: starting cattle on feed and associated risks with bovine respiratory disease and the end of the feeding period focused on performance, carcass quality, fatigued cattle syndrome, heat stress, acute interstitial pneumonia, liver abscesses, cattle transport and others.
