Economist: More Immigration Could Double Global GDP

Insider Louisville - The world could see its gross domestic product more than double if it removed barriers to immigration, an economist told students at the University of Louisville this week.

Free trade increases global output, and "immigration is just another way of doing free trade," said Benjamin Powell, director of the Free Market Institute at Texas Tech University and a professor of economics in the Rawls College of Business.
