Texas Tech Announces Homecoming 2013 Schedule

The parade has been canceled due to the 11 a.m. kickoff time.

Homecoming

Texas Tech University’s homecoming, “Tech Loves the '90s” features a week-long celebration of spirit and tradition beginning Oct. 7. The week culminates with the homecoming football game versus Big 12 Conference rival Iowa State.

Student organizations compete in many events throughout the week, including the Spirit Board and Spirit Banner competitions and S.O. Sing. Homecoming king and queen will be announced during halftime of Saturday’s football game.

The parade is canceled this year due to the football game kickoff set for 11 a.m. Oct. 12. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports 1.

“Unfortunately, due to the early kickoff, the parade is not logistically possible this year,” said Jon Mark Bernal, associate director for Texas Tech Student Union & Activities. “We look forward to the parade’s return in 2014, and in the meantime we look forward to cheering on the Red Raiders in their nationally televised appearance Saturday morning.
