Texas Tech graduate, former star quarterback formally introduced as new head football coach.

Texas Tech graduate and former star quarterback Kliff Kingsbury was formally introduced Dec. 14 as the new head football coach in front of several hundred fans at United Spirit Arena.
Members of the Texas Tech Board of Regents, Chancellor Kent Hance and Interim President Lawrence Schovanec also were on hand as Athletics Director Kirby Hocutt introduced the 15th head coach in Red Raider history.
"Well, it's good to be home, it's good to be home," Kingsbury said. "(Texas Tech) is a place that helped shape me as a man and has given me so much. I'm just honored and humbled to be a part of this and be able to coach at your university. So, thank you."
Kingsbury played for Texas Tech from 1999-2002, setting 39 school, 16 Big 12 Conference and 17 NCAA records. He also excelled in the classroom, graduating in 2001 with a bachelor's degree in management and earning Academic All-America Player of the Year honors in 2002.
