UPDATE: As of 2:30 p.m. Sunday, the City of Lubbock completed city-wide tests of water. All samples were negative, giving clearance that the water continues to be safe for consumption. At this time, the boil water notice has been lifted.
9 a.m. July 21: At about 2:15 AM, the City of Lubbock experienced city-wide power outages that affected power throughout the city. At this time, power has been restored. Reported problems from the outage include low water pressure; therefore, the city has issued a boil water notice effective immediately and until further notice. The reason for the boil water notice is purely precautionary due to the low water pressure from the power outage.
