Texas Tech University School of Law has again earned a Top 20 ranking by preLaw magazine in its Best Value Law Schools issue. Listed at No. 20, Texas Tech’s law school is the only Texas law school ranked in the Top 20 this year. Texas Tech Law has been ranked in the Top 20 in the last four of the magazine’s Best Value issues.

Best Value schools are determined based on tuition, bar passage, average student indebtedness and graduates’ employment after nine months, all categories in which Texas Tech Law excels.

Darby Dickerson, the law school’s new dean, noted that the school’s relatively low tuition, strong record of bar passage, and commitment to work with students and alumni to find quality jobs were factors that attracted her to the school. “Our students receive a high-quality education at a tuition level that leaves most with a wide variety of options of what type of career to pursue.”

Another hallmark of a Texas Tech Law education is the personalized experience that students receive both inside and outside the classroom.

“We work closely with students to provide counseling, identify opportunities and create job-search strategies,” said Julie Doss, assistant dean for career services. “Employers are looking for graduates who can hit the ground running. Tech Law graduates learn practical skills while in law school and have earned a reputation for being practice-ready.”
