Rawls College of Business Hosts Lecture at 2011 MD/MBA Conference

Texas Tech University’s Health Organization Management program, housed in the Rawls College of Business, is hosting its semi-annual distinguished lectureship luncheon in concert with the 9th annual MD/MBA Conference.

WHAT: Rawls College of Business 48th Semi-Annual John Aure Buesseler Distinguished Lectureship

WHEN: 12-1 p.m. Saturday (April 9)

WHERE: The Overton Hotel and Conference Center, Sunset Ballroom C, 2322 Mac Davis Ln.

EVENT: Texas Tech University’s Health Organization Management program, housed in the Rawls College of Business, is hosting its semi-annual distinguished lectureship luncheon in concert with the 9th annual MD/MBA Conference. Nir Menachemi, associate professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), will serve as the speaker.

Menachemi teaches courses in health information technology and policy and strategic management. He holds appointments in the UAB Department of Health Services Administration, the UAB School of Business and the Lister Hill Center for Health Policy. He also serves as the director of the Department of Health Care Organization and Policy’s doctoral program.

Menachemi has published more than 90 peer-reviewed scientific papers, and his work is frequently showcased by the popular press. His writing has focused on topics including health information technologies, patient safety, medical malpractice and healthcare quality issues.
