Images from Lubbock’s Past, Present and Future

Take a tour of Lubbock through a camera lens capturing images from the city’s early years. The Southwest Collection/Special Collections Library presents an exhibition of Historic Lubbock, at the First Friday Art Trail on March 4.

The exhibit will be on display from 6-9 p.m. at the Urban Tech Design Center located on the campus of the Louise H. Underwood Center for the Arts.

Design concepts for the old Lubbock Post Office and Federal Building are also on display.  Ideas include shopping, entertainment and education as presented by graduate students in the College of Architecture. The historic building built was built in 1932 and is now on Preservation Texas’ ten most-endangered historic sites list.

The First Friday Art Trail is a monthly event that showcases works of art in the galleries, studios and restaurants of Lubbock. All events and exhibits are free and open to the public.

The Urban Tech Design Center is located at the corner of Fifth Street and Avenue J.
