Texas Tech University’s Student Disability Services will host various events during Disability Awareness Week Oct. 25-29.

The goal of the series is to increase knowledge about disabilities at Texas Tech by providing opportunities for members of the campus community to learn about the physical, learning and attitudinal barriers that face individuals with disabilities.

Scott Tankersly, “Coach Tank,” will speak on his experiences as a deaf athlete and coach at 6 p.m. Monday (Oct. 25) in Human Sciences Room 169.

Other events include Deaf Bingo, a student panel question and answer series, registration preparation seminars and a presentation from the runner-up of Miss Wheelchair Texas.
