Greek Community Hosts 14th Annual Greek Treat
October 21, 2010
Ghosts, goblins and witches, oh my! Texas Tech University’s Greek Community is
gearing up for its 14th annual Greek Treat. The event will take place from 4-6 p.m.
Wednesday (Oct. 27) at Greek Circle located on Quaker Avenue between 8th and 15th Streets. The sororities and fraternities would like to extend an invitation to Lubbock
community parents and their children to attend this year’s festivities.
The Panhellenic Council community service chair, Marla Doughty, has been planning
the project and hopes for another great turnout.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for the Lubbock community to come and trick-or-treat
with the Greeks,” Doughty said. “We’re looking forward to a memorable event filled
with games, candy and activities.”
In addition to trick-or-treating, participating sororities and fraternities will provide
activities for the children including bobbing for apples, face painting and bean bag
toss. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in their favorite Halloween costume. Greek
Circle will be blocked off beginning at 3:30 p.m. to ensure safety for the children
Texas Tech Panhellenic, along with the Interfraternity Council, National Pan-Hellenic
Council and Multicultural Greek Council, has sponsored Greek Treat for fourteen years.
They look forward to continuing to provide a safe and exciting time for the children
and families of the Lubbock community.
