Texas Tech to Feature Participatory Dance

Texas Tech University Vernacular Music Center (VMC) presents “Dancing with Mr. Darcy” and “Worlds of Dance.”

“Worlds of Dance,” will feature an array of ensembles, including the Texas Tech Celtic, Collegium Musicum, Ragtime and World Music ensembles at 7 p.m. April 16 at the Legacy Event Center Talkington Hall, a downtown facility at 14th Street and Avenue O. The Texas Tech Irish set-dance organization also will participate. This event is free and open to the public.

“Dancing with Mr. Darcy” is a charity event that will benefit the VMC’s annual concert series. This event will begin at 9 p.m. The performance will feature English country dancing, a cold buffet and coffee service. Tickets are $40 for an individual or $75 for a couple. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available at all Select-A-Seat locations, or at http://www.ticketsage.com/_lubbock/. Formal or period dress is required.
