Conference Discusses Issues Related to Mexican-American Families

Scholars will address issues such as nutrition and health, education and family dynamics.

A national, multidisciplinary slate of scholars will convene in Lubbock April 15-16 to discuss issues related to child development in Mexican-American families.

The conference, titled Understanding Mexican American Children and Families: Multi-disciplinary Perspectives, is sponsored by the Texas Tech University Department of Human Development and Family Studies and the Society for Research in Child Development.

Guest speakers from 10 universities including the University of Texas at Austin, Arizona State University and the University of Wisconsin – Madison will discuss topics such as nutrition and health, education and family dynamics in Mexican-American households.
