Statistically speaking, Alex Saez should be in jail.
The 20-year-old Texas Tech student had all the odds stacked against him.
His mother's schizophrenia spiraled out of control about 12 years ago. His father,
a worker at a tire shop in the Austin area, couldn't care for Alex and his younger
sister.
