Gonzales gives inspirational speech to local students

Excel Academy and Uvalde High School students were treated to what might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience Feb. 18 when they met with Alberto Gonzales, a former U.S. attorney general and current visiting professor with Texas Tech University.

The message shared by Gonzales, who served in the administration of President George W. Bush for four years as White House counsel and two years in the Bush Cabinet as U.S. attorney general before resigning in 2007, was simple straightforward encouragement to seek a college education.
