The full suite of mobile applications included in TTU Mobile will eventually cover every facet of campus life.
Anytime and anywhere, TTU Mobile gives you access to the latest information about Texas Tech University in the palm of your hand.
You don’t need market research to notice how many members of the Texas Tech community own mobile devices. Just walk across campus and you’ll see people of all ages listening to music, chatting with friends, getting their e-mail, updating social networks or surfing the Web. Mobile technology has forever changed the way we interact with the world around us.
Thanks to the leadership and vision of the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, TTU Mobile has arrived. Texas Tech has contracted with Blackboard Mobile, the industry’s leading provider of mobile applications for education, to develop a full suite of mobile applications that will eventually cover every facet of campus life. Administrators and student groups alike are thrilled about the possibilities this new technology can provide.
“I am pleased and excited to see Texas Tech University making strides to use the latest technology to keep students up to date and informed in a very mobile and relevant manner,” said Suzanne Williams, president of the Student Government Association. “The TTU Mobile application is a great way for our Texas Tech family to be better informed and connected.”
The first phase of TTU Mobile is built for the iPhone and iPod touch and available for download in the iTunes app store, with versions for Blackberry devices and other web-enabled mobile devices coming soon.
With just a tap, the TTU Mobile suite of apps provide instant access to contact others, find and bookmark courses, navigate around campus, and stay updated on sports news and schedules:
The TTU Mobile project is a joint effort between the Division of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, the Office of Communications & Marketing, TTU Information Technology, and TTU System Information Technology. Visit www.ttu.edu/mobile for more information and the latest on TTU Mobile.
