As a minister's wife, Katharine Hayhoe believes in God.
As a climate scientist at Texas Tech University, she studies how global warming affects the environment.
Recently, Hayhoe wrote about her faith and her research in A Climate for Change: Global Warming Facts for Faith-Based Decisions. The book, co-authored with Hayhoe's husband, Andrew Farley, is meant to help believers and churchgoers understand how faith and environmentalism can work together. Tennessee religion writer Bob Smietana recently interviewed Hayhoe via e-mail.
