Students Invited to Share the Texas Tech Experience During Sibling Weekend 2010

Parent and Family Relations will host a fun, educational and spirit-filled weekend in February for Texas Tech students and their siblings between the ages of 8-15.

Sibling Weekend is designed to welcome students' borthers and sisters to Texas Tech.

Parent and Family Relations will host Sibling Weekend 2010, Feb. 19-21, a fun, educational and spirit-filled weekend for Texas Tech students and their siblings between the ages of 8-15.

"Sibling Weekend gives Texas Tech students the opportunity to share the college experience with their brothers and sisters," said Ken Gassiot, associate director in Parent and Family Relations. "Younger brothers and sisters share in the collegiate experience just as parents and other family members do, and their involvement in our community is essential."

The weekend encourages siblings to come to Texas Tech to spend time with their brother or sister who is a current student, and to participate in a range of fun activities throughout the weekend.

"We work to create an experience that is truly unique for all participants so siblings know that Texas Tech is a place for them, too."

The cost is $45 per participant. This includes all meals, men’s basketball tickets for the University of Texas game, official Sibling Weekend t-shirt, Double T drawstring bag and more. See the full schedule, additional details and the registration form at the Sibling Weekend Web Site.
