School of Music Presents the Annual Carol Concert Friday

The College of Visual and Performing Arts and the School of Music will host the Annual Carol Concert at 7 p.m., Friday (Dec. 4) at Hemmle Recital Hall in the Music Building.

The University Choir, University Singers, Madrigal Singers, Women’s Chorale and Matador Singers will combine their talents in a variety of well-known Christmas melodies. The ensembles also will welcome as special guests members of the West Texas Children’s Chorus conducted and founded by School of Music faculty member Susan Brumfield.

Faculty members John Hollins and Sigurd Ogaard will provide a prelude and accompaniment on the 81-rank Holtkamp Organ (consisting of 4,271 pipes.) The university’s new director of choral activities, Richard Bjella, will spearhead the event, along with faculty conductors Carolyn Cruse, Karl Dent, John Hollins and graduate assistant conductors Justin Duncan, Kristi MacMullen, Ian Aiperspach and Eric Posada.
