Texas Tech is the big winner for TRIP or Texas Research Incentive Program money. Although Texas Tech had already announced how much money it could qualify for; it's now official.
Texas Tech gets more than any other school with $10.8 million this year and up to $21.2 million over two years. UT-Dallas comes in second at $7.7 million this year and up to $15.1 million over two years. This money from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is matching grant money.
TRIP money is meant to help Texas universities reach Tier One status.
