Cotton drawing Texas, India closer

For Dr. Seshadri Ramkumar, now is the perfect time to bring Texas cotton farmers and the textile industry in India together.

Ramkumar is the manager of the Nonwoven and Advanced Materials Laboratory at the Institute of Environmental and Human Health at Texas Tech University. He also is the organizing secretary for the sixth annual International Conference on Advances in Textiles, Machinery, Nonwovens and Technical Textiles to be held Dec. 7-9 in Sathyamangalam in the state of Tamilnadu, South India.

The conference is designed to feature papers on a variety of issues, including natural fibers, fashion design and nonwoven technology, and will include experts from the United States, the United Kingdom, Turkey, the Czech Republic and China, among others.
