'You can get an education anywhere, but at Texas Tech you get more than education,' Tech Chancellor Kent Hance told the students, many of whom came with their parents. '(And) if you dream big, we want you to come to Texas Tech. We want you to excel.'

AUSTIN - Like thousands of high school seniors in Texas, Sophia Gase is trying to decide what college she would like to go to next year.
Although Texas Tech University is high on her list, Gase also is considering the University of Arkansas, the University of Oklahoma, Louisiana State University and the University of Michigan.
Texas Tech officials hope the Westlake High School senior in Austin will pick their school and made a good case to her and to dozens of other prospective students who attended a recent recruitment fair in the state capital.
