Texas Tech museum bringing Renaissance, Medieval festival to Lubbock

Travel back in time starting at 11 a.m. on Aug. 29 at the Museum of Texas Tech, 3301 E. Fourth St.

This year, the museum staff is introducing Medieval and Renaissance life to citizens of the Hub City. Families and individuals will be able to explore culture, history and weaponry through a Renaissance festival and exhibit at the museum.

The exhibit, which contains swords from every era, will be on display during the Aug. 29 festival and through Oct. 25. During the event, there will be guided exhibit tours.

"This is our test run. Renaissance fairs are popular in Dallas and Houston," said Natalie Bari, assistant curator of education. "This will be unique to West Texas."
