Texas Tech Lifelong Learning Hosts Membership Recruiting Party

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Texas Tech University is hosting its annual membership recruitment party from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Aug. 20 in the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center Banquet Hall.  The event will feature entertainment, refreshments, door prizes and information about OLLI fall course offerings.  Anyone 50 years of age and older is welcome to come to learn more about the organization dedicated to providing a variety of lifelong learning activities.  The event is free and there is no obligation to join. The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a program in the College of Outreach and Distance Education.  It was established in 2002 to meet the needs of older adults who wanted to continue learning in a non-traditional way.  Most classes meet for a total of eight hours and are interactive.  Instructors for the classes are recruited from current and retired Texas Tech faculty or from people with special expertise in a subject. To RSVP for the party or to request a catalog of course offerings, call (806) 742-7202 ext. 270, or visit www.olli.ttu.edu.
