A new national report card on higher education awards Texas Tech a grade "B."
"What Will They Learn.com" launched by the American Council of Trustees evaluates which colleges and universities make sure students know what they need to know to succeed after graduation.
The grade scale is largely based on seven core curricular areas which are required of everyone.
Texas Tech's grade falls just shy of perfect for foregoing basic literature and economics course requirements.
Overall Texas colleges and universities do very well compared to other schools nationwide.
Two of only five "A's" awarded go to the University of Texas Austin and Texas A&M.
