Texas Tech University will host its Back to School Fiesta from 9 a.m. - Noon Saturday (August 22) at the Student Union Building. Registration begins at 8:45a.m. Open to the Lubbock community, as well as students and their families from surrounding communities, the three-hour event offers free school supplies, college resources, free food and entertainment. As many as 3,000 Lubbock-area participants are expected at this year’s fiesta, created to introduce children and their families to the educational and professional opportunities offered by higher education and a degree earned through Texas Tech. The event features a college and community fair, free health screenings, college preparation workshops, parent workshops, campus tours and more.
