Masked Rider to Make Appearance at Texas Tech Hill Country Golf Tournament

Players and public will have opportunity to meet iconic mascot during their good walk spoiled.

2009-2010 Masked Rider Brianne Aucutt-Hight Whether marking birdies or bogeys on their score cards, competitors will have the support of Texas Tech University’s Masked Rider Aug. 15 at the 6th Annual Red & Black Golf Classic in Fredericksburg. Texas Tech’s iconic mascot will attend the Texas Tech Alumni Association’s Hill Country Chapter tournament at Lady Bird Johnson Municipal Golf Course. The event is co-sponsored by North Park Lexus of San Antonio. Opening ceremonies and the shotgun tee-off begin at 12:30 p.m. Check-in and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m., and the public is invited to see the Masked Rider and her horse, Midnight Matador, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Players will compete as members of four-person teams in a scramble format. Registration costs $80 per person and pays for registration, lunch, a goodie bag and awards party once play has finished, and also contributes $5 to a skins pot. All individuals and teams are welcome. Proceeds will support scholarships for Texas Tech students from the Hill Country. The five best teams will win prizes, as will players with the longest drive, shots falling closest to the pin or a hole in one.
