Outreach and Distance Education Names New Administrators

College fills TTUISD principal and director of student services positions.

The College of Outreach and Distance Education announces the hiring of two new administrators. Ethel Russell has been named high school principal of the Texas Tech Independent School District (TTUISD). Cary Sallee has been named the director of student services for the college. Both began their duties in April.

Ethel Russell

Ethel Russell has been a TTUISD counselor since December 2007. She came to Texas Tech from San Angelo where she had served as an assistant principal and interim principal. She received her bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and her master’s from Angelo State University. Click Image to Enlarge.

Cary Sallee

Cary Sallee comes to TTUISD from the AT&T call center, where he was a manager for nine years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech. Click Image to Enlarge.


Part of the College of Outreach and Distance Education, Texas Tech Independent School District (TTUISD) was established by the State Board of Education in 1993.

It is an accredited elementary, middle and high school diploma program that operates entirely at a distance.

The Student Services unit within the College of Outreach and Distance Education provides support services for K-12 and college non-semester-based, independent study distance students.
