New Panhandle wind farm helps Tech

Wind researchers at Texas Tech will soon have a new way to get hands-on training, thanks to the Department of Energy.

According to a release from the university, $28 million of President Barack Obama's $9.9 billion energy budget will go to the creation of the Pantex Renewable Project, a wind farm outside of Amarillo. As a research partner, Tech will have full access to the facility that will become nation's largest wind energy laboratory.
